Hearth & Wren is a small shop built around one idea: most of the things sold for the quiet part of the day are almost right. The throw slides off the shoulders. The wrap has nowhere to put your hands. The chain looks like a medical device instead of jewelry.
So we buy a lot of samples, keep the ones that hold up, and sell only those.
How we choose
Every piece has to pass three plain tests. It has to stay where you put it. It has to survive a wash. And it has to look like something you would leave out on a chair rather than hide in a closet.
If a sample fails, it does not go on the site. That is why the shop is small, and why it will stay small.
Where the things come from
Our textiles and chains come from suppliers we have worked with directly, and orders ship from a warehouse in the United States rather than from overseas. That is not a marketing line, it is the reason a package does not sit in customs for three weeks.
How we handle problems
You have 30 days to change your mind for any reason, and we pay the return label. If something arrives wrong, write to us and we will fix it. Nobody is going to ask you to prove anything or send photographs.
Why the name
Hearth is the warm corner of the room. The wren is the small brown bird that stays through the winter instead of leaving. Both felt closer to the point than another word for luxury.
